The first and only research-backed colour matching method for progressive beauty and fashion services
Delivering the missing link between personal and material colours, Huedentity brings about the theoretical and methodological innovation that has been lacking for almost fifty years.
The two currently available methods of colour analysis, seasonal and tonal, relies heavily on the consultant’s subjective opinion due to the lack of evidence-based theoretical models behind them. The resulting methodological gap is a constant barrier for colour analysis to become a respected, standardized professional service despite its enduring popularity amongst clients.

resolved issue #1 lack of crediblity

seasonal/tonal
Practitioners of traditional methods often overspecialize in a certain colour model to be able to defend their methodological choices to sceptical clients. To prevent credibility loss, consultants also tend to focus more on safety-oriented styling elements like body shape and proportion.

huedentity
Rooted in visual sciences, the new colour analysis built by Huedentity provides a solid theoretical and methodological foundation for standardised colour analysis services. The developed Human Centred Colour System® backs up colour matching decisions and removes subjectivity, bias, and minimizes client scepticism.
resolved issue #2 Narrow palettes

seasonal/tonal
The palettes recommended by these models contain only a handful individual colours from the thousands available across colour domains, often leaving entire domains out of clients’ palettes. The recommended palettes display a list of isolated colours that are difficult to recall or distinguish from other shades due to the lack of indication of which shades of the recommended colour would also be a match and which wouldn’t.

huedentity
The fluid, contextual display used in the new model eliminates the need to memorize individual colours and makes it easy for clients to remember their colour matching patterns. Huedentity displays the client’s matching palette within a continuous colour space to keep the matching colours in context. This contextual display also clarifies the acceptable variations of a colour and considers the entire colour spectrum for selection.
resolved issue #3 low Personalisation

seasonal/tonal
Traditional models give each client a pre-made, rigid palette based on the colour type they are classified into. Consultants often forced to apply custom adjustments to the palettes to increase the tailoring of their services due to the lack of further personalization options in these class-based palette approaches. The high number of palette variations leads to disagreements within the industry and further erodes the credibility of the professionals involved.

huedentity
Huedentity creates palettes that are unique to each client by selecting colours dynamically that match the client’s unique general tone. This tone is gathered from the preceding natural colour palette analysis of the process and placed in the centre of the colour space to define the harmonising intervals within each domain. While similar natural colours can result in similar palettes, no two results will be exactly the same.
resolved issue #4 low scalability

seasonal/tonal
Lacking a coherent theoretical and methodological background, traditional models are unable to contribute to a reliable digital solution. Impeding technical innovation and keeping the digital solution oversimplified and suitable only for domestic use.

huedentity
Digital by nature, the Huedentity model provides a smart system that can scale with the client base and is suitable to be linked to other digital systems. Allowing it to be integrated into complex, custom solutions and to provide immense advantage of its users.
